FUN
Campers are engaged in fun and educational activities throughout their ten-day stay at Englishton Park. Camp activities are designed to give campers an opportunity to learn about subjects they struggle with in school and to develop better classroom behaviors, all in a fun and active environment.
LEARNING
Camp activities are combined with a academic lessons in various subjects, including math, language arts, science, and geography. For example, math lessons are taught at the swimming pool, and geography lessons take place at the arts and crafts counter. Each child also receives one-on-one tutoring tailored to the child's academic needs. Results have shown that this system of teaching can be beneficial for children who react negatively toward traditional classroom learning.
GROWTH
Throughout each day, campers are rewarded based on improvements they make on individually assigned goals, such as working well with others, completing assigned tasks, and actively participating. Results have shown that reward-based systems can improve children's perception of in-class learning.
